A fake dropped gun should create a simple Murder Mystery 2 trap: disguise a player as dead, leave the decoy in sight, and wait for someone to approach. Instead, almost every attempt immediately runs into a new problem. The wrong player has the murderer role, the real gun appears beside the fake one, bodies are positioned badly, players notice suspicious behavior, and accidental attacks repeatedly wreck setups before the bait can work.
That constant failure becomes the main source of entertainment. Rather than pretending the prank is succeeding, the players openly acknowledge how badly the recording is going, eventually calling it their worst video and joking that only one person has fallen for the trick after an hour of trying. The self-awareness keeps the repeated failed setups from feeling completely pointless because each disaster becomes part of the joke.
There is also some genuine improvisation behind the attempts. They change outfits to go undercover, experiment with doorways and hallways, reposition the fake body, try to hide the real gun, and coordinate murderer and sheriff roles to make the scene more convincing. A few traps come close to working, creating brief moments of suspense when another player approaches the bait before noticing something suspicious or escaping.
The downside is that the core idea rarely produces a satisfying payoff. Long stretches consist of frantic instructions about where to stand, when to fake a death, which gun is real, and whether another player can see them. Because the same setup repeatedly collapses for similar reasons, the middle becomes noticeably repetitive even though the commentary stays energetic.
That energy is extremely high throughout. Rapid shouting, repeated phrases, exaggerated frustration and constant interruptions give the gameplay a deliberately chaotic style that will suit viewers already comfortable with this kind of Roblox comedy. At the same time, the nonstop volume leaves little room for quieter buildup, so potentially funny moments are sometimes buried beneath everyone talking and reacting at once.
The later detours make the structure even looser. Encounters with suspected teamers, attempts to fool additional players and increasingly improvised interactions move farther away from the original prank experiment. Still, the closing acknowledgment that the scheme largely failed is an appropriate ending because it embraces what the session actually became rather than manufacturing a cleaner success story.
Pros
- Failed setups are treated honestly and frequently become funnier than the intended prank.
- Changing disguises, locations and player roles adds some variety to repeated attempts.
- A handful of near-successes create genuine anticipation around whether someone will take the bait.
- The players' self-deprecating reactions give the chaotic gameplay a strong personality.
Cons
- The central prank succeeds too rarely to provide much payoff for the amount of setup involved.
- Repeated positioning, instructions and failed attempts make portions of the gameplay feel repetitive.
- Constant shouting and overlapping reactions can overwhelm both the joke and what is happening onscreen.
- Later gameplay diversions weaken the already loose structure.
Repeated failure unexpectedly gives the session much of its personality, turning a weak prank strategy into an energetic comedy of mistakes. The lack of successful traps and increasingly messy structure limit the concept, but viewers who enjoy frantic MM2 banter may find the disastrous execution more entertaining than a perfectly planned prank would have been.
