The completed table nevertheless justifies the extraordinary process behind it. Details such as hiding the mounting holes beneath larger mosaic blocks, shaping the edge to reveal the veneer colors instead of covering them with edge banding, making the base removable for repair, and concealing the light strip demonstrate that the final effect depends as much on small design decisions as on the spectacular form.
