A King Air air-ambulance crew losing GPS during an active military jamming exercise and striking mountainous terrain minutes later creates an obvious causal narrative, but the analysis carefully argues that the known sequence is considerably more complicated. The most useful choice is to reconstruct the flight chronologically: the crew notices the navigation problem, requests radar vectors, switches from a GPS-dependent RNAV approach to an ILS, and initially appears to have a workable path toward Sierra Blanca Regional Airport. That sequence gives the central argument real substance rather than simply dismissing concerns about GPS interference.

The distinction between established information and unresolved questions is handled particularly well. The discussion repeatedly emphasizes that the NTSB preliminary report establishes facts rather than probable cause, and it resists claiming to know why the pilots abandoned the ILS or what they actually saw when reporting Ruidoso in sight. That restraint is important because the presentation is explicitly challenging other reporting for moving too quickly from correlation to causation. It generally holds itself to the same standard it demands from those sources.

The explanation of conventional instrument navigation is another major strength.
