An $800 smart toilet is an appropriately absurd starting point for a collection built around products that would ordinarily be rejected before they ever reached the studio. The premise works because the host does more than parade strange gadgets across the desk: he repeatedly explains why each pitch would normally earn a “no,” then considers whether hands-on experience changes that instinct. That creates a useful tension between novelty and practicality, with the best surprises coming from products that initially look ridiculous but turn out to have a legitimate technological idea underneath them.

The triple-screen Xbook demonstrates that balance especially well. Its sliding displays and convertible dual-touchscreen arrangement are undeniably interesting, yet the host quickly identifies a weak trackpad, mediocre performance and the questionable usefulness of its three-screen configuration. Comparing its experimental appeal to early foldable phones helps communicate why an awkward first-generation concept can still be worth noticing. The eventual two-out-of-ten score is deliberately harsh, but the explanation makes clear that technological ambition and product quality are being judged separately.

More conventional wearable technology receives a noticeably deeper assessment. The Garmin screenless fitness tracker is discussed in relation to competing devices, including its physical size, fabric band, programmable button, $200 purchase price and lack of a required subscription. Importantly, the host does not pretend that a few days of use establish health-tracking accuracy; viewers interested in measurement performance are directed toward more extensive comparative testing elsewhere. That caution is missing from the personal EKG segment, however, where an eight-out-of-ten assessment rests substantially on what the device and accompanying cardiac-care service claim to offer rather than demonstrated accuracy. The host clearly states that he is not a medical doctor, but “if it is as accurate as it says” is too conditional a foundation for such a strong score.

The stranger products provide most of the entertainment. A $200 illuminated “busy” button earns enthusiasm because its tactile controls, animations, timers and smart-home integration turn an unnecessary idea into something genuinely enjoyable. The smart toilet seat, meanwhile, lands closer to novelty for novelty's sake: its heart-rate, HRV, breathing and stress measurements are described without personal testing, while its recurring subscription and conspicuous metal contact points make the appeal difficult to establish.

Benny, the small wheeled camera robot, is where the experiment most convincingly justifies itself. Suspicion about the company's promotional footage gives way to visible enthusiasm as the robot tracks subjects, jumps, performs a front flip, records 4K footage, avoids obstacles and recovers from crashes. Its Kickstarter status is appropriately noted, so the demonstration should not be mistaken for an assessment of a finished retail product, but this is exactly the sort of discovery the format promises: something the host expected to dismiss that becomes the standout once it is actually used. The spontaneous 10-out-of-10 reaction feels intentionally playful rather than like a laboratory-grade verdict, and it suits the segment's tone.

The larger and more ambitious products are handled with similar skepticism. Honor's phone with a motorized 200-megapixel gimbal camera impresses largely because the unusual concept physically exists, while the host admits he has not extracted camera samples and therefore cannot fully judge image quality. A $1,200 “AI powered” massage chair receives much less patience when its supposed intelligence appears to amount largely to automatically adjusting lumbar support, though its heating, cooling, massage and extensive physical adjustment remain functional. Sony's expensive True RGB television gets a more substantial examination, with observations about saturated reds, strong brightness, deep blacks, anti-reflection performance, room-calibrated audio and a USB-C rechargeable remote helping explain why the technology is appealing despite the $3,600 price.

The rapid scoring keeps the pace lively, but the ratings are much less rigorous than the observations supporting them. Products range from barely tested to used for several days, yet nearly everything receives a numerical score anyway, including medical hardware, a Kickstarter robot, an unreleased concept phone and a mysterious handheld gaming device that the host openly says he has little experience evaluating. The closing discussion of creator emails is therefore one of the more valuable sections: the warning against companies demanding guaranteed coverage in exchange for sending a product draws a clear distinction between receiving review hardware and entering an advertising arrangement. The disclosed Best Buy sponsorship is likewise separated from the individual product evaluations, although the lengthy sponsor message inevitably makes the ending feel more commercial than the freewheeling experiment preceding it.
