Can Link Read Women's Minds?

A single slice of pizza becomes the starting point for an unexpectedly impressive run from Link, who correctly connects the accompanying Reddit post to someone celebrating getting their nipples pierced. What would normally be a straightforward fill-in-the-blank food game quickly develops a second comic premise: Rhett and the crew become increasingly suspicious that Link somehow knows the answers in advance. That shift gives the segment more momentum than the food itself could have provided.

The basic format remains pleasantly simple. Rhett and Link are shown meals posted to a girl-dinner community, taste recreations of those meals, and attempt to reconstruct missing words from the original captions. Jenna serves as the guide and answer keeper, providing just enough additional context without overcomplicating the guessing game. The meals range from pizza and Caesar salad to avocado with sauerkraut, waffles, tamales, and a salmon-and-broccoli combination, giving the hosts plenty of material for both genuine deductions and deliberately ridiculous guesses.

Link’s improbable accuracy supplies the best running joke. After getting remarkably close with “anonymous office pooper” when the actual caption refers to a “mystery office pooper,” he exactly identifies “eat more protein” from another post. Rhett’s growing disbelief, followed by accusations that Link may have looked at the episode outline, creates a playful tension that works because Link can usually explain how he reached his conclusions. His reasoning is not always especially sophisticated, but the contrast between mundane context clues and everyone treating his success like an impossible feat is consistently funny.

The episode also benefits from Rhett changing tactics once he realizes Link is genuinely trying to solve the prompts. His story about a child suddenly performing well on a test after finally studying provides an amusing parallel to Link being suspected precisely because he has improved. Their competing guesses about the waffle caption and their identical assumption that the tamale post would end with “Mexican” show that the game works best when both hosts commit to deduction rather than simply chasing punchlines.

Not every prompt produces equally strong comedy. The later discussion of someone accidentally waxing their butt cheeks together stretches one crude anecdote for a while, and some of the food tasting functions mostly as connective material rather than adding much to the game. The broader discussion of what technically qualifies as a “girl dinner” is similarly loose: Rhett argues that a girl dinner can simply be a dinner eaten by a girl, but the segment never seriously explores the term beyond using Reddit submissions as setups for jokes. That is perfectly adequate for the format, though it leaves the premise less distinctive than the title might suggest.

The chemistry ultimately carries the episode. Jenna’s reactions help sell Link’s increasingly suspicious streak, while Rhett moves naturally between competitor, skeptic, and amused observer. Naming Link “Feminist Brian” as his prize also provides a suitably absurd payoff to a game that gradually becomes less about decoding women’s thoughts than watching one host repeatedly stumble into answers nobody expects him to know. It is lightweight Good Mythical Morning material, but the spontaneous disbelief surrounding Link’s performance gives it a memorable comic identity.

Pros

  • Link’s unexpectedly accurate guesses create a strong running joke that escalates naturally throughout the game.
  • Rhett and Link’s attempts to explain their deductions make the guessing format more engaging than random fill-in-the-blank comedy.
  • Jenna works well as the moderator, particularly through her reactions to Link’s increasingly improbable success.
  • The varied Reddit meals and captions provide enough unpredictability to keep the simple format moving.
  • Rhett’s growing suspicion of Link creates an entertaining secondary storyline beyond the individual food prompts.

Cons

  • Several tasting sequences contribute little beyond filling time between guesses.
  • The crude waxing anecdote is stretched longer than its comic payoff warrants.
  • The concept of “girl dinner” remains loosely defined and is mostly treated as a vehicle for caption guessing rather than explored in any meaningful way.
  • Some intentionally silly guesses are less effective once the episode establishes that genuine deduction is the more entertaining approach.

Link’s bizarrely successful guessing streak transforms a familiar Reddit-based food game into an amusing comedy of suspicion, with Rhett and Jenna’s disbelief providing many of the best reactions. The premise remains lightweight and occasionally wanders, but the hosts’ chemistry and escalating mystery around Link’s accuracy make the segment considerably more entertaining than the individual meals suggest.
